~ THE PROBLEM

What's actually going wrong

Before we talk product, here's what most properties are dealing with without loft insulation.

01

Air leaks from the house

Warm air escapes directly through gaps around loft hatches, pipework, and unsealed spotlights, driving up heat loss even where insulation is already in place.

02

Condensation and damp

Damp in loft insulation is usually caused by condensation, not the insulation itself. Warm, moist air rises from the house, hits the cold loft space, and condenses — often because eaves ventilation is blocked, downlights are unsealed, or the loft hatch has no draught seal.

03

Wet or compacted insulation

If existing insulation is visibly wet, mouldy, or clumped together, it stops working effectively and can lead to rot in the roof timbers.
